Version 2026-10-08g
A second PC checks every prepared answer of the community on its own against its source. Whatever is not there, KIplatz takes out; the rest stays.
Every version of KIplatz with what changed, newest first. The program fetches a new version by itself within an hour and tells you in three sentences at the next start what is new. The entries below are in German, the language the program speaks today.
Latest addition is “Frag dein Zuhause” (Ask your home): you fetch your files from the PC at home onto your phone, without a cloud. The page get your files from anywhere explains how.
Current version: build 2026-10-08g.
A second PC checks every prepared answer of the community on its own against its source. Whatever is not there, KIplatz takes out; the rest stays.
KIplatz words its answers itself and names the source with a link, so you can read the original. Numbers, names and dates are taken over exactly as they appear there. This way the work of the people who write these texts stays with them.
When you ask for a figure, a date or a duration, KIplatz now searches the internet at the same time as it writes the answer. If the community's knowledge is not enough, the result is already there, and the answer comes seconds sooner. Below the answer it says what was searched for.
If a number or date from the first answer is in none of the sources, KIplatz now searches the internet right away and answers with a source. If the internet has nothing reliable either, KIplatz says so instead of guessing.
General improvements were made.
What KIplatz looks up on the internet for you stays private on your PC and only helps with your questions. KIplatz shares only its own answer with the community, in its own words and with a link to the source. A website you read under Settings · Knowledge also stays private on your PC.
KIplatz does not read websites that say “no to AI”, not even for a single question. What KIplatz reads and keeps from other websites is set out at kiplatz.com/copyright.
The column on the right of the program is gone: messages are back at the bottom in a narrow line and disappear by themselves after a few seconds. If you read in a website under Settings · Knowledge, what was remembered appears right below the field. Only this one page is read, not the pages behind it.
On the phone, the line you are typing now always stays in view when you write a long text. Before, the input field grew under the keyboard and you kept typing blind.
When you write more than one line on the phone, your text gets the full width of the input field. The buttons for files, microphone and send then move to a line below.
The program now has the magnifier next to “New chat” like the app, it searches the titles of your chats. “Import chats” sits in the settings under General and in the Program menu, no longer in the sidebar. “My AI” shows the questions as tiles to tap, like the app.
The program's menu is tidied up: Platzl, Skills, My AI and My Community sit permanently in the sidebar, and your account at the bottom left opens the settings. Settings and My Community have tabs like Claude, every card is open and exists exactly once. No more fold-out menus.
The app's settings are tidied up: one list in four groups (Community, Customize KIplatz, Devices and PC, Data and account), the important things on top. Each row opens its own page, no more fold-out menus. “Check answers” now sits right under Community.
A click on “KIplatz” at the top left always takes you to the start page with your chats, in the program and in the app.
While you are at your PC, all background work rests, even with the setting “Always”. Your PC still answers the community's questions right away and with the full search. Once you have been away for a while or are asleep, everything runs again.
If memory runs low while you are working on your PC, KIplatz stops preparing knowledge right away and only continues once you have been away for a while. Your PC keeps answering the community's questions just as well as before.
KIplatz needs much less memory while preparing knowledge. On a laptop it grew past 12 GB after a few hours, now it stays at about 2.5 GB. That leaves more room for your own programs.
A fresh start for everyone: every device begins again with 100 credits, and the leaderboard has started over too.
Every answer carries an invisible label “generated by KIplatz”, as the EU law on AI provides. Not a single word of the text changes. Anyone can check it at kiplatz.at/ki-kennzeichnung.
New under Settings: “My questions help KIplatz learn”. If you switch it off, your questions, “thumbs up” and corrections no longer go into the learning list. This applies to your whole account, on your phone and on your PC.
On devices with a small model, KIplatz now looks up knowledge questions on the internet first and answers with a source. If it finds nothing reliable, it says so instead of guessing.
“At how many degrees does water boil?” and similar questions are no longer taken for a weather question.
If your program is set to English, “What's new”, the menu on the icon at the bottom right and speech recognition are now in English too. E-mails to your account come in the language you signed in with.
If you ask a question while your PC is answering its night-time check questions, your question goes first. The check question is repeated afterwards.
If memory is almost full and you are working on the device, KIplatz pauses its work for others so nothing stutters.
If your device passes its questions on to the community anyway, KIplatz also frees up the model's memory during the pause.
What KIplatz is still writing and checking appears paler and is labelled “Draft, being checked”. If the first version doesn't match the sources, it says so under the answer, and KIplatz looks on the internet right away instead of asking.
Answers to questions in English arrive faster: only the answer itself is translated now.
If KIplatz asks “Should I check live?”, the button “Yes, check live” is right below. A short “yes” in the input field works just as well.
KIplatz is now also available in English. The program uses the language of Windows, the app uses the one of your phone; you can change it under Settings, “Language”. If you ask in English, KIplatz answers in English, and the answer is checked against the sources as always.
In the app, no text is cut off with “…” any more: if it doesn't fit on one line, for example with large type, it gets a second line.
General improvements were made.
Signing in with your phone: click “Sign in with your phone” under “My community” and scan the QR code with the KIplatz app (Settings, “Sign in a PC”). No password, in a few seconds.
If you correct an answer and a PC in the community confirms it, you now get 2 Credits. Under “Check” you also find a text you can use to recommend KIplatz to friends.
There are no coloured dots behind the sentences of an answer any more. You can still see where an answer comes from under “Answer details”.
In “My AI”, the free field “Anything else?” now says that it goes along with every question. Nothing personal belongs there.
The questions during setup are now also available under Areas as “My AI”, with answer style: what you need KIplatz for (such as programming, web, AI on your own PC, Linux and Git), how it should answer and what it should never do. This now also applies when a PC in the community answers.
“Copy key” under “Other programs may ask KIplatz” now really copies the whole key. It is only shown shortened, and “Show” displays it in full.
The copy buttons in the program, for example on answers and on the team code, now work reliably.
You can now read the daily report at a glance: at the top the numbers of your PC as tiles, below that your rank, your team's rank and the check questions of the night, and for the whole network a small table with today and yesterday.
Pages that KIplatz reads now carry their correct title. Before, some pages had words from the menu and icons attached, such as “…infoAustriaGroßglockner”.
General improvements were made.
Signing in without a password: type your address, type the code from the e-mail, done. In the app directly, on the PC and in the Platzl with the button “Sign in with e-mail code”.
In the app you can sign in several accounts and switch with a tap, for example your own and one for the family. Each account has its own chats, projects and skills.
New in the leaderboard: found a team with a club, company or friends, or join with a code. Everyone's work counts for the team, and the team gets a place on the team leaderboard.
If Open WebUI or another program runs on your computer in Docker, it can now ask KIplatz too. To allow it, switch on Docker under “Settings” at “Other programs may ask KIplatz”. Devices in your home network still can't get in.
The leaderboard only shows your name if you tick “Show my name in the leaderboard”. Your daily report under “My community” tells you what your PC did for others yesterday and today, and what rank you and your team have.
Under every answer there is now a calm line like in the app: Copy, thumbs up and down, Check and Again. Share, Read aloud and the details are under the three dots, the sources to the right of them.
With “Report answer” you tell us directly if an answer is wrong, incomplete or offensive. With thumbs down you simply tap the reason.
KIplatz now checks sentences with “e.g.”, “approx.” or “i.e.” as one sentence, not two any more.
In the app you now sign in with one tap: choose the account, confirm, and you are back in the app. The detour through the website is gone.
If KIplatz doesn't know something, it searches the internet before giving up. “Nothing found on the internet” only appears if a search was really made.
General improvements were made.
If you ask for a duration, a number or a date, KIplatz gives exactly that detail from the sources. If it isn't anywhere, it says so honestly instead of giving a different number.
Your question preferably goes to a PC where the community's knowledge is already prepared; it finds the sources faster.
General improvements were made.
Your PC can pass models on to new members, encrypted and checked piece by piece. That way the capacity grows with the community, entirely without a data centre. Switch it on or off under “Share computing power”.
New members first get their AI from other PCs in the community; if that doesn't work, from our server in Vienna as before.
General improvements were made.
A new PC can ask questions right away: while its own AI is still loading, a PC in the community answers.
When the AI is loaded, every piece is checked individually. If one arrives broken, your PC fetches only that piece again, not the whole file.
Your PC now only gets the AI from our server in Vienna. If it is busy at the moment, “Just a moment please” appears at the bottom, and your PC gets its turn automatically.
Searching now only goes through the community's search on our server.
More privacy: under a saved answer, the name of a PC is only shown as long as it belongs to the community, and it does not reach the other PCs at all. Numbers and e-mail addresses in feedback are made unrecognisable.
If you tell KIplatz “remember this”, it tells you honestly what it can keep and how it can reliably know something for good: through thumbs down with the right answer as a suggestion.
If your PC checks itself at night with the community's check questions, you can see under “Today” how many it answered correctly.
Your PC remembers the beginning of an answer again, even when it prepares knowledge in between. It then doesn't have to read it again every time.
If KIplatz doesn't know something when a member asks, it searches at most once and then honestly says it doesn't know yet. The new answer gets the question word for word, so that it answers exactly what was asked.
Web pages that were read during a search disappear from your PC again after they expire.
Answers on the PC are faster again: a change from the same evening had slowed them down and has been reverted.
More security in your home network: a foreign device on the same Wi-Fi can no longer knock out the connection between your PC and your laptop, the pairing code can no longer be guessed, and a paired device can no longer make your PC read pages from your home network, such as the one of your router. Pairing only works if both devices have this version.
If your PC has a large model and shares computing power, it checks itself at night with the community's check questions. If it answers badly, members' questions go to other PCs first until a night goes well again. It is never blocked.
“Thumbs up” under an answer from the answer store now counts for the community too. “Thumbs down” counts per account: only when two members find a saved answer bad is it worked out again.
A question that your PC has accepted for a member is never lost again: if it can't answer it because it is restarting, the model isn't loading or you are asking something yourself, it passes it straight back to the community, and the next PC takes over.
After a short interruption of the connection, your PC is back for the community within seconds, not only after a minute.
Ready-made answers are found more often: “How many inhabitants does Innsbruck have?” and “Inhabitants Innsbruck” count as the same question.
General knowledge questions that the community has already answered and checked are now answered by your PC straight away, without thinking. The answers are stored encrypted on your PC and can only be opened with exactly this question.
Questions that are looked up on the internet finish faster: KIplatz no longer waits for the slowest web page.
If you ask about other AI providers, KIplatz describes itself correctly: it runs on your PC and on the community's devices.
If another Windows user signs in on the PC, for example to play games, KIplatz pauses right away and frees the graphics card. When they are gone, KIplatz carries on by itself.
If your PC has just accepted a question, an update waits until the answer is out. No question gets lost through a restart any more.
If KIplatz has to rewrite an answer because a number wasn't in any source, it no longer apologises for a mistake you never saw.
Answers are faster: during the check steps, your PC no longer reads everything in from the start every time.
If two KIplatz run on one computer, one pauses while the other answers a question.
Your question now goes to the PC in the community that finishes fastest at the moment. The whole time until the finished answer is counted, including searching and checking.
After “Thumbs up” or “Thumbs down”, the thank-you now appears directly under the thumbs.
When a question comes in, your PC drops any other work immediately and answers, also while preparing, while getting ready in the morning and at night.
Questions reach a free PC faster: no question waits several seconds any more for a PC that isn't picking it up.
If someone asks something the community has already answered and checked, the answer now comes straight from the answer store, with no wait. If you don't like it, “Thumbs down” removes it.
With every answer, your PC now says how long each step took. That way we can make KIplatz faster in a targeted way.
Skills can now be “Always on”: tick once, then they apply in every chat, including new ones. You can do this under Skills and in the middle of a chat via “Always on …” next to the skill selection.
If a PC in the community answers your question, it now receives your skills and follows them.
If several users or programs share a graphics card, KIplatz now notices and picks a model that still fits alongside.
If a PC gets stuck on a question, another one steps in after a few seconds.
Your PC now keeps a copy of the community's public knowledge and searches it itself. Answers are faster, even when very many people ask at the same time.
Searching on the server has become many times faster.
General improvements were made.
Answers are faster: when a question comes in, your PC immediately sets its background work aside and answers first.
On graphics cards with little memory, the AI now stays entirely on the card and writes at full speed again.
A normal question from your phone is answered by the strongest free PC in the community. Your PC at home takes care of questions about your files.
KIplatz now runs on a newer program foundation that will keep getting security updates for a long time. You don't have to do anything.
General improvements were made.
General improvements were made.
General improvements were made.
General improvements were made.
KIplatz now also renews its program foundation (the Python underneath) by itself, just as it already did with the program. You don't have to reinstall anything or touch any folder.
Under “Ask your home”, “Last fetched” now always shows the name of the phone that fetched the file.
After connecting, KIplatz tells you right away where to find searching in your files: in the app via the plus next to the input field, on the laptop with the tick underneath.
General improvements were made.
KIplatz now has its own address: your program talks to kiplatz.at. Under “What leaves my computer” it therefore now says kiplatz.at.
“Search my files” is now below the question, next to “Skill”. You tick the box yourself, and it stays in the chat until you untick it; a new chat starts without it.
If you ask about a file without the tick, KIplatz doesn't search on its own but tells you where the tick is.
If you ask for the latest screenshot, KIplatz now finds exactly the newest one; words like “last” or “newest” mean “the newest first”.
If KIplatz finds several files, there is a sentence at the top and below it the list to click, no longer everything twice.
The box “Search my files” only appears if your PC is connected to a phone or laptop.
Under “My community”, “Your Credits” is now collapsed like the other areas; one click shows your balance and what it was for.
If you connect your phone to the same PC a second time, it stays one connection, and the app tells you it was already connected.
For a comparison like “Inhabitants Salzburg and Vienna”, the articles of all the places mentioned are included, even when KIplatz also looks online.
In the app you can now also connect your phone with the camera: scan the QR code on the PC, done. Your phone asks first whether you allow the camera.
If you ask for numbers about several places or names, each of them appears in the answer; if the reliable number for one is missing, KIplatz says so instead of skipping it.
For a number question about a place, only the place itself and matching pages count, no more districts.
If you switch off “Search my files” yourself, KIplatz searches the web, even if your question sounds like it is about a file.
Large files from your PC at home now also arrive on a slow internet connection; what doesn't work in one go, KIplatz fetches afterwards.
Follow-up questions are now only asked for real tasks like “plan for me” or “recommend me”. A knowledge question, even with “compare”, is answered right away.
“Ask your home” now finds all your files on the PC at home, including Word, PDF and photos, and shows them as a list with folder and date. If it finds nothing exact, it shows similar files.
Tick in the list what you need and fetch it to your phone or laptop. The file is encrypted on the way.
Above the input field you can see whether your question searches your files; the program switches it on by itself for a file question, and you can change it at any time.
Under “Your Credits”, identical entries now appear in one line, with count and total, instead of many single lines.
If you ask about a file of your own, such as “where is my application”, KIplatz never searches the internet any more, only your documents, and honestly says if it finds nothing.
When KIplatz searches the internet, the search words always match your question; saved search results do not contain your question.
New: “Ask your home”. Your phone or laptop asks your PC at home, and it answers with your documents. Pair once under “My community” with a code or QR code; your documents stay on the PC.
In the dark window, “The AI to ask” and “Your device” have the same colour as the other rows again instead of black.
In the areas, every second row is lightly tinted, and the headings of the groups are bigger, so it is quicker to find your way around.
KIplatz now recognises place names with several words such as St. Pölten, Bad Ischl or Klagenfurt am Wörthersee as one place when you ask about several places at once.
While KIplatz is checking an answer, the draft on your phone no longer shows internal notes.
A number that was found and backed up stays in the answer, even if nothing has been found yet for another part of the question.
General improvements were made.
The areas have been tidied up: Settings, My community and the others show a clear list in groups. Each item is collapsed and opens with a click; the program remembers what you had open.
The “Areas” menu is split into three groups: take part, community and settings.
Under the last answer there is “Ask again”: the same question goes to the community once more, and if one is free, a different PC of equal quality answers.
With the new “Share” button under every answer, you send question and answer on as text, by message or e-mail. No link is created and nothing on the server.
Under search results it now always says correctly what was sent to the search: your search words or, if none were formed, your question itself.
If you ask for numbers, KIplatz checks them against its sources and, if in doubt, answers once more with backed-up numbers only. An answer made of empty headings no longer exists; if KIplatz doesn't know, it says so and offers “Check live on the web”.
While KIplatz checks an answer, on your phone you see the whole draft and what is happening right now, instead of a single word.
KIplatz no longer asks a follow-up question before a finished answer; “Check live on the web” is back under every answer.
The key your PC uses to identify itself to the server is renewed automatically every 90 days. Under “Your data on the server” you can also renew it yourself if you think someone has the old one.
Your PC's idle time is now recognised correctly even after many days of running.
The program now checks a signed statement from the server about which build is the newest, and tells you if it is missing, too old or doesn't match.
The status line at the bottom no longer shows “is starting” after the AI has started, when it has long been running.
An update that wasn't finished because of an open file is repeated automatically.
KIplatz stays fast, even when very many people ask at the same time. When there is nothing to do, your PC checks in with the server less often for this.
The words of an answer from the community appear as soon as the PC has written them, and “Stop” works immediately.
General improvements were made.
KIplatz now knows pharmacies, doctors, petrol stations, inns, huts and mountains in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, with address and opening hours, from OpenStreetMap.
A PC in the community prepares the places; your device downloads nothing for this.
If you attach a photo or a file on your phone and only want the text from it, KIplatz now simply copies it out instead of asking about target group and tone.
There are no red dots under a follow-up question any more, because a question doesn't claim anything.
The Platzl now uses the whole window. A topic opens large, “Back to overview” takes you to the list.
“Stop” now works immediately, even when the AI is not writing a word at that moment.
If the program is ended forcibly, for example in Task Manager, the AI now ends with it. Before, it could keep the graphics card occupied in the background, and the next start loaded very slowly.
“KIplatz is on” at the top now only appears when the AI has really finished loading.
The encryption in the program is up to date: the library for it has been renewed, known gaps are closed.
Tables in answers are now real tables, for example when you have prices compared across several countries. Before, there were just lines.
The dot for a sentence without proof now sits at the end of the table row it concerns.
What you change while KIplatz is still answering (rename, pin, move into a project, rate an answer) is now kept.
Credits: a question and a credit at the same moment are both booked.
General improvements were made.
The Platzl in the program: under Areas, connect the Platzl once, then read topics, reply and create new topics. Things are only published after you confirm.
Under every answer there is a small flag: report errors in the Platzl, with question and answer as a draft; at the top you write what was wrong.
Skills from the Platzl: under Skills, take over or reload “From the Platzl”; you share your own skills with “Share in the Platzl”. For bigger things, “Build with us in the workshop” opens the workshop.
The KIplatz icon in the taskbar and on the desktop is bigger and as easy to recognise as the other programs next to it.
Skills from the Platzl now also work on your phone: in the KIplatz app, tap “Use skill” on a skill in the Platzl, and your PC follows it when answering if it gets such a question.
Write a skill in the Platzl, try it out on your phone straight away, improve it in the Platzl, fetch the new version with “Reload from the Platzl”. If you get stuck, ask the community in the same topic.
Chats and projects get colours: right-click in the list, “Colour …”, for example blue for water questions, green for nature. A colour stripe appears before the chat, a coloured dot before the project; the text stays.
Colours and projects also reach your phone with “Chats on all devices”, and the other way round.
Without a KIplatz account, the community answers 5 questions a day. With a free account you ask without a limit: under “My community”, “Your KIplatz account”. What your PC answers itself doesn't count.
New: chats on all devices. Switch it on under “Your KIplatz account”, then you start on your phone and carry on writing on your PC. End-to-end encrypted: only your devices have the key, the server only sees gibberish.
A new device is only added if you allow it on another one, recognisable by the same check number. Files and images stay on the PC.
Under “Your KIplatz account” you now see all the devices you are signed in on, with “last active”. You can sign each one out individually, or all the others at once, for example if a phone gets lost.
A phone or app that hasn't been used for 90 days signs out by itself. Your PC stays in the community.
The button for connecting a second PC at home is now called “Pair PC in home network”. It is not meant for phones: there you sign in with your KIplatz account.
On your phone, the chat list now follows your finger when you swipe up and slides open or shut.
If you look for an update via the menu while KIplatz is checking by itself, the two no longer get in each other's way.
If you ask what something else costs, such as the Klimaticket, you now get the price and not the statement that KIplatz is free.
For the mileage allowance, KIplatz again gives the amount from the Ministry of Finance, even when it says “since” with an earlier date there.
For questions about what KIplatz costs, what Credits are and what the house rules are for, KIplatz now always answers with the same checked sentences.
Windows' check of web pages now takes effect right after the update, not only after the next start of KIplatz.
If nothing is left after that, KIplatz honestly says “I don't know that yet.” instead of making something up.
If nothing saved really fits, KIplatz looks live on the internet right away, instead of building an answer from half-fitting passages.
General improvements were made.
If a question names Germany, Switzerland, a federal state, a canton or a town, KIplatz searches there and works out the public holidays for that region, for example German Unity Day in Bavaria.
If a responsible body doesn't answer the first time, KIplatz asks a second time right away.
For questions about the current state, KIplatz reads directly from the responsible body, for example for football tables and fixtures, key interest rates, ticket prices and the mileage allowance.
If an answer names a date or an amount that isn't in any source, KIplatz strikes the sentence instead of showing something made up. It works out weekdays next to a date itself.
Gaps like “[Name]” never stay in a text any more.
KIplatz works out public holidays and autumn holidays itself, with the right weekday.
For questions about the current state, only what is current counts: remembered items from an earlier season or year are skipped, and KIplatz searches again.
Follow-up questions are no longer mixed up with the question before: after “LASK fixtures” and then “Rapid fixtures”, KIplatz only searches for Rapid.
For fixtures, tables and dates, KIplatz searches for the current season or the current year and weeds out pages with an older state.
If KIplatz doesn't know something, it searches the internet by itself instead of asking.
General improvements were made.
On the iPhone, the phone page now says right at the beginning that you first add it to the home screen and only sign in there.
General improvements were made.
The sign-in to the community now also survives a fresh setup of the program.
Every device has its own name: if a new device has the same name as an existing one, it gets a number added.
The ZIP file contains instructions in German and English.
You now set computing power, memory and hard disk with sliders, for example 10 %, 1.5 GB or 50 MB. A tick mark shows the recommendation.
You choose yourself which drive the shared knowledge is stored on, for example an empty second hard disk. KIplatz only creates its own folder “KIplatz-Speicher” there and takes anything existing along after checking.
If a device isn't signed in to the community, this now appears at the top of the window, with a button to join.
General improvements were made.
While KIplatz is working, the symbol next to the answer spins. Next to it are the seconds and what is happening right now, for example “searching the internet …” or “writing the answer …”. On your phone it no longer says “computing”, but “a PC from the community is working on your answer”.
Weather information from the internet no longer gets a yellow ring when the numbers are right. A wrong number gets a red dot instead.
On your phone, a new chat shows the symbol and “Welcome” in the middle and the input field right below. The sentences of the answer are no longer underlined, and after sending, the keyboard goes away.
An old “Community AI” shortcut on the desktop is replaced at start by “KIplatz” with the new logo.
The stop button next to the send button only appears while an answer is running, and the line “Will be sent shortly” only when a question is really waiting. Before, both were always visible.
General improvements were made.
General improvements were made.
The house rules have a new German name, Platzordnung, to match the Platzl. The rules themselves stay the same.
General improvements were made.
You can now paste screenshots and images with Ctrl+V or drag them into the window with the mouse; they are attached to the chat like a chosen image and stay on your device. The AI can look at them on a computer with a graphics card.
If the search finds nothing or can't be reached at the moment, the program says so in one sentence instead of writing a new answer without a source. Before, a block didn't let short questions like “Tell me something about KIplatz” onto the web at all.
“Check live now” only appears under answers where there is something new to read (weather, headlines, a page read live). Under answers from the knowledge store there is nothing to look up; there “Answer details” shows the sources.
The start page of kiplatz.at shows the questions answered since the start, not only those from today.
No more wavy or dotted lines under whole sentences. The traffic light is a sign after the sentence: a ring for uncertain, a solid dot for without proof.
Right-clicking a chat in a project shows “Remove from project”.
Projects in the sidebar can be collapsed and expanded with a click on the name; when collapsed, the number of chats is shown behind it, and the device remembers what is closed.
The right-click menu of a chat always stays fully inside the window, even for the last entry at the bottom of the archive.
A project has a dot in front and its own right-click menu: rename, dissolve (the chats stay) or delete together with its chats.
General improvements were made.
Accessibility: every input field and every button in the window and on your phone is labelled for screen readers, the keyboard focus is visible, the traffic light under answers also shows uncertain things as a dotted line, not just as a colour, and anyone who has set less motion in Windows sees no animations. The website has an accessibility statement and terms of use that label AI answers.
Questions that your device answers for you now count on the website as answered questions, as a number only.
Readings on the website: after every answer for another member, your PC measures how busy it was and, if the graphics card provides it, how warm it was and how much power it used. Only numbers, no names. The statistics page shows from this the waiting time, speed, temperature and power of the network.
Questions without prompt skills: if you ask for a plan, a recommendation or a decision, KIplatz first checks whether something important is missing and then asks at most two short questions; if you have already said everything, it gets going right away.
Next to the input field there is the button “Complete question”: KIplatz writes your request out in full, with gaps in square brackets for everything you still need to add. You fill in and send.
At the start, KIplatz asks you three questions once (name, place, what is on your mind) and remembers them on your device. For your topics, your PC collects knowledge from the community in its free time, privately, just for you. Plus ten skill templates for everyday life under Skills, ready to take over.
Security: The program's keys are no longer stored in plain text on your device, but encrypted by Windows (only your Windows user on this device can read them); the switch happens by itself.
Signing in with the KIplatz account only goes to our workshop, no matter what a server replies.
In the morning report, the day in the weather is bold, there is a blank line between today and tomorrow, and below the last headline there is more space before the line “Is that right?”.
Under every headline, the morning report shows a line “To the article on …” with the name of the news site to click instead of the long address; the article opens in your browser, and there is a blank line between the topics.
If you enter a new place under Settings, today's report is made again straight away and opened; before, the old one without weather stayed.
While the AI is being prepared, a bar runs across all files (“1 of 2”) instead of starting from the beginning for every file.
The morning report shows every headline in full (before, it was cut off at the first colon, for example “Ukraine” instead of “Ukraine: Dead in attacks”), with source and a link to the article, and mixes several free news feeds without a paywall from your country (Austria, Germany or Switzerland; which ones is stated in the privacy policy). Which country is set by the place in Settings.
If you don't have a place yet in the morning report, it now says that you enter it under Settings and press “Create now” there, instead of waiting until the next morning.
Security and privacy tightened: an update is only installed if the signed package is really newer than your program; the log on your device also hides the computer name, e-mail addresses and IPv6 addresses, and “Report error” does not send addresses of pages read.
Short recordings like “test, test” threw Windows speech recognition off (it reported the end of the recording as an error). Fixed; the program now reads to the end and returns the text.
Speaking instead of typing now understands you with the speech recognition built into Windows: immediately, without a download, offline, and Windows always lets it load. Press the microphone, speak, press again, and the text is in the input field.
If an answer was wrong, you say so with thumbs down and add how it should be right. Your device follows this from now on, and for the same question your version comes. If you send the correction to the community, another device checks it, after which it applies to everyone.
If you ask KIplatz what it is, who it is, what it can do or how it works, you get a fixed text written by humans instead of an answer from the model. The sentence “I am KIplatz from KIplatz” is history.
The Credits history now says what a Credit was for: “Answered a member's question”, “Deepened a section”, “Checked another device's deepening”, “Worked out sections in numbers”. Before, every kind of work had the same line “0 sections computed for the community”.
If a file is damaged anyway, the program puts it aside with the date, starts again with the initial value and tells you under “My community”; nothing is deleted.
Your KIplatz account now also applies in the program: under “My community” you sign in with one click, the sign-in runs in the browser on the KIplatz sign-in page, with a password or with Google. The program never sees a password and keeps no access to the workshop.
Credits and leaderboard then count for your account, across all devices you are signed in on. “Sign out” detaches the device from the account again; without an account, everything carries on as before.
The KIplatz icon is now really in the centre: on the shortcut, in the taskbar, by the clock and in the window. The previous icon files were shifted to the right, which is why the icon looked crooked; all sizes are now made from one clean master.
If Windows still shows the old icon, it is only holding it in its cache: sign out and in again or restart the computer, then Windows reads the icon fresh.
The icon in the taskbar, by the clock and on the shortcut is now cut out, centred and fills the space, like with other programs. Before, it had its own dark green background and air all around.
KIplatz has a logo: the six-person symbol, top left in the window, by the clock, on the shortcut and on the phone page. And the AI in the window is now also called KIplatz instead of “Our model”.
Autostart repaired: on some computers the Windows entry still pointed to the old program file, so the program didn't start after sign-in. The entry is now checked at every start and renewed if needed.
Daily balance: under “My community” you can see what your computer did today and what the whole network has achieved. When you open it, the program tells you once a day what happened while you were away.
In the morning, when your computer has nothing to do, it fetches weather and headlines in advance for all members; can be switched off under Settings.
Under “Share computing power” you see how many sections your computer has deepened and checked today; each one counts one Credit.
Memory with consent: write “Remember: I live in Gmunden”, and KIplatz knows it from now on. “Forget that about …” deletes it, “What do you know about me?” shows everything. Stays on this device; a computer in the community never gets it. List and switch under Settings.
Morning report: enter time and place under Settings, then every day weather and headlines arrive as a new chat, read aloud if you like.
Ctrl + Space takes marked text from the program before it: the text appears in quotation marks in the input field, and you add the question.
If the community ever has to pause briefly, you see the reason, and your device answers by itself.
The buttons in the question bar (“+”, microphone, Send, Stop) are smaller and calmer.
Under the input field there is now a “+”: add a file, image, folder or screen, with symbol and word. To the right of Send, the microphone in full button size.
Reading aloud (🔊) now really works; the Windows voice wasn't found before.
If another computer in the community answers for you, you now see the words arriving as it types.
Ctrl + Space brings the window to the front from anywhere, with the cursor straight in the input field.
🔊 under every answer reads it aloud with the Windows voice. 🖥 next to the input field adds a picture of your screen to the chat (only with a graphics card).
New area “What leaves my computer”: every connection of the program, where to and what for, without contents.
At the first start, the program now only asks two things: the device name and the invitation code. After that you can ask right away.
Errors are written in plain words. Under Help there is “Report error”: one click, the report goes to us, without your questions.
Community AI now appears in the Windows apps and in the Start menu. During setup, autostart is on; on battery, a laptop doesn't compute for others.
The “Knowledge” page is compact: totals, the newest entries, search and filter by type.
A second click on the desktop icon no longer opens a second program, but brings the running one to the front.
