Safe AI, and how you can tell

Every statement on this page hangs on something you can see or trigger: a checksum, a signature, a button, a log.

What we cannot back up is not on this page.

Protection in layers, from download to server

  1. Signed before it reaches you

The program comes signed, and Windows knows it and lets it through. Every update carries our signature. Your PC checks it before installing and keeps the old version for one more start as a way back.

We only build with packages that have a fixed checksum. One byte different, and the build stops.

Build and checksum are on the page Join in

  2. No foreign code on your PC

What your PC does for the community is numbers and text: preparing sections, summarising, answering other people's questions. A program from another member never lands on your device.

Skills are text, models have a built-in checksum

  3. Done twice, discarded on mismatch

Part of every piece of work goes to a second device. If the results disagree, both are discarded.

Deepened sections only enter the search once another device has approved them.

    No credits for invented work

  4. The house rules check what comes back

Whatever comes back from another PC passes through the community's rules before you see it.

The rules are in the house rules

  5. Stop on your side, kill switch on ours

Pause and Stop work immediately. When we press the kill switch on the server, it hands out no more questions and no more tasks, every program shows the sentence about it and only answers on its own.

That works even when one of us cannot be reached.

Watchdog, backup and blocking

5 minutesis how often a watchdog checks that the service answers, and restarts it if it hangs
15 minutesis how often a second watchdog checks from outside and alerts us
14 daysis how long every nightly backup of everything the community needs is kept
Blockedfor a while is anyone who signs in several times with a wrong key

Safety comes before speed

Before a new build reaches you, over 600 automatic checks run. If one fails, it does not go out, and you keep the old version.

What the program sends and what it never does is on the page What never happens, each time with the place where you can check it yourself.

The same rules apply when you want to get your files from anywhere. Only a device you add yourself at the PC may search, every file travels encrypted, and the server in Vienna only passes it on and cannot read it.
