KIplatz – Read me
=================

KIplatz is an AI assistant for your Windows computer. The answers come from
the devices of the community, not from a data centre.

Getting started
---------------
1. Unpack the ZIP file: right-click it, then "Extract All".
2. In the unpacked folder, double-click KIplatz.exe.

On its first start KIplatz sets itself up. It copies itself into your user
folder, puts an icon on the desktop and in the Start menu and from then on
starts with Windows. It needs no administrator rights. You can delete the
unpacked folder afterwards.

Requirements: Windows 11, 64-bit. If your computer has no strong graphics
card, the devices of the community answer your questions.

What KIplatz does on your computer
----------------------------------
- It works for the community only as much as you allow under "Rechenkraft
teilen" (share computing power). You set processing power, memory and disk
space yourself with sliders, including the drive.
- It opens your personal files only when you add them yourself.
- Your conversations are stored on your device. When you ask the community,
the question goes to another computer without your name.
- The page "Datenfluss" (data flow) shows what the program exchanges with the
  server.
- Updates arrive on their own and are digitally signed. An update without a
  valid signature is refused.

Where the files are
-------------------
- The program: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\CommunityAI
- Your settings, conversations and the AI models: in your user folder
- The community's shared knowledge: in the folder "KIplatz-Speicher" on the
drive you chose (without a choice: in your user folder)

Removing KIplatz
----------------
Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, then "Uninstall" next to
"KIplatz". Or in the program under Settings, "Programm entfernen" (remove
program). Your conversations and settings stay until you delete them
yourself.
